Covering a broad range of fire-starting methods, safety protocols, and crucial first aid for fire-related injuries, this course is suitable for all skill levels and ages (under 18s must be accompanied by a parent). Enhance your fire-making abilities and learn to safely create and manage fire in any wilderness setting.

2. Fire Safety (30 minutes)

  • Core fire safety principles

3. Fire-Related Injuries (30 minutes)

  • Identifying different types of fire injuries
  • First aid for burns: treatment and prevention
  • Managing bleeds caused by fire incidents
  • Quick response techniques and essential first aid supplies

4. Basic Fire-Making Techniques (1 hour)

  • Identifying and preparing tinder
  • Selecting and gathering the right firewood
  • Building different types of fire lays (teepee, lean-to, log cabin)

5. Advanced Fire-Making Techniques (1 hour)

  • Utilizing modern fire-starting tools (matches, lighters, fire steels)
  • Mastering primitive methods (friction fire, flint and steel)
  • Strategies for fire-making in adverse conditions (wet weather, wind)

6. Fire Maintenance and Management (30 minutes)

  • Efficient fire-keeping practices
  • Fuel management and fire size control
  • Understanding the stages of a fire

7. Cooking Over an Open Fire (1 hour)

  • Preparing your fire for cooking
  • Basic outdoor cooking techniques (skewering, foil packets, Dutch oven)
  • Ensuring safe food handling and hygiene

8. Practical Session and Q&A (30 minutes)

  • Hands-on fire-making and cooking practice

Refund policy

  • Cancellation on the part of the attendee:
    • Within less that 7 days from the date of the course: no refund
    • 7 days or more from to the date of the course: 50% refund
  • Course will take place with a minimum of 6 participants; it the quorum is not reached there will be a full refund.
